Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation Elects Five Members to Board of Trustees


The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation is pleased to announce the reelection of three members and the election of two new members to the Board of Trustees. Janis Lang Bartosz, Zeta Delta – Towson University, joins the Board as a newly elected Trustee. Professionally, Janis brings business, strategy management and information technology experience to the Foundation through her work at Ciena Corporation, in Linthicum, Maryland, which focuses on optic, Ethernet and network automation. Janis is a long‐serving Fraternity volunteer on both the local and International level including service as Chesapeake Alumnae Chapter President, Zeta Delta Chapter Advisor, Province Director and Alumnae Development Specialist. She wears the Arc of Epsilon Pi with Diamonds. Janis received her Bachelor of Arts from Towson University and her Master of Arts from Loyola College.

Sue Maggio Sim, Sigma – University of Illinois, also joins the Board as a newly elected Trustee. Sue recently retired as Senior Vice President and Co‐Owner of Boston Portfolio Advisors in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where she was responsible for corporate administration and financial management, underwriting, and human resources. She continues to consult for the corporation. Sue’s professional experience has also included work as an elementary school social worker and supervisor at Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Broward County. Her volunteer experience includes service on the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Board of Directors, and service with Junior League and Kids in Crisis. Sue holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from the University of Illinois. She has served in numerous local leadership roles including past President of the Greater Ft. Lauderdale Alumnae Chapter. Sue wears the Arc of Epsilon Pi.

Reelected to the Board of Trustees is Deborah Schmidt Eschenbacher, Zeta – Ohio University, who began her Trustee service in 2004. Deborah was one of the first students to graduate with a Master’s Degree in Philanthropic Studies from the Indiana University Center on Philanthropy. Through her current experience as a professional fundraising consultant, Deborah works with nonprofit client organizations and institutions, and teaches fundraising courses in the U.S. and throughout the world for The Fundraising School, a division of the Indiana University Center on Philanthropy. Deborah has served the Foundation as Chair of the Governance, Board Education, Strategic Planning for Fundraising, and Ad Hoc Strategic Planning committees. She wears the Crescent of Epsilon Pi.

Peggy Kuebler Field, Alpha Beta – University of Michigan, is also continuing service on the Foundation Board of Trustees which began in 2005. She has served as Secretary of the Board, and chairman of the Investment, Personnel Review, Board Development, A-Team and SIS Grant committees. Peggy’s entrepreneurial business experience, multiple levels of service to the Foundation and Fraternity, and involvement with the Foundation’s Capital Campaign contribute significantly to the Foundation Board. Peggy is past President of the Houston Alumnae Club and Northwest Harris County Alumnae Panhellenic Association. She wears the Crescent of Epsilon Pi. Peggy holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan.

Also reelected to the Board, Debbie Douglass Roth, Omega – University of Akron, began her service on the Board of Trustees in 2004 and has served as Vice President and Secretary of the Board; chairman of the Foundation’s Program Audit and Continuing Education Grant committees; Co-Chair of the Foundation’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, and as liaison to The Leadership Institute – Women with Purpose and the Fraternity’s Philanthropy Committee. Past Fraternity Service includes Area Coordinator Alumnae and Province Director Alumnae; she wears the Crescent of Epsilon Pi. Debbie presently serves as an advisor for Omega Chapter. She brings a university perspective to the Foundation through her past service as National Alumni Board President and Greek Alumni Society President at the University of Akron. With a Bachelor of Arts in Foods and Nutrition, Debbie is an Early Childhood Nutritionist.

The above members join Benita Wilson Dick, Epsilon Delta - University of Texas, Austin; Patricia Tulley Riddiford, Beta Iota - Eastern Illinois University; and International President and Trustee Jackie Brannon Stutts, Gamma Delta – Auburn University.
