Alpha Gam in the Neighborhood’s “Live with Purpose”

You may have heard that Alpha Gamma Delta announced new tag line of “Live with Purpose”, which if you really think about it, is extremely empowering. Whether you have just graduated from college or you’ve been out for years, you have probably experienced a time in your life that you just are living day to day, week to week and so on. We can get caught up in getting things done and just getting through, we sometimes forget to make sure we are making the most of life. That life is meant to be a journey and every moment can have purpose. So when Alpha Gamma Delta came out with “Live with Purpose”, it struck home with so many sisters. At our November Alpha Gam in the Neighborhood events, we asked what “Live with Purpose” meant to our members… Quit trying to be Super Woman (career, wife, mom, daughter and friend). Instead prioritize what was important, simplify and enjoy life. - Cathy Focus on what I want to do with my career. I am a teacher and have an opportunity to impact hundred

Pearl Sisters needed at Austin Peay

Support an extraordinary group of Alpha Gamma Deltas by becoming a Pearl Sister! Once our colonization recruitment events are held, a list of our new members and their hometowns will be compiled. We will match each new member up with an alumna volunteer who will encourage her throughout her new member period. Pearl Sisters do not need to live close to the colony in order to participate. Communication can be anything from chatting on facebook or twitter to sending her cards, emails or phone calls. This is a great opportunity to convey that an Alpha Gam sister is always close! This program extends through the new member period, culminating at Initiation. However, these connections often last a lifetime. Below are ways that we encourage you to keep in contact with your Pearl Sister. Feel free to be creative and add your own ideas! - Send a weekly email or card to let her know you are thinking of her. - Help to educate your Pearl Sister on the Purpose, history and other aspect of Alph

Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes National Area Kick Off Party!

Last Thursday, Kelly, Erin and myself met at the National Museum of Crime and Punishment for a Kick Off Party for the National Area Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes! We had a great time touring the museum - and at the end we headed downstairs to the main event. As part of the event, we made our way around to five stations where we learned a little more about the different parts of the walks happening in October, including the Youth Ambassador program and the Red Striders . During part of the program, we heard from Youth Ambassador Evelyn and other team captains for the Walk. It's amazing to hear how so many lives have been touched by diabetes in different ways. I personally have lost my uncle to diabetes and have several family members living with the disease on a daily basis. I'm proud to have ODAC be involved with the Walk to Stop Diabetes in October. For more photos, visit ADA DC Metro Area on Facebook . Our Walk Captain, Kelly, has set up our team page, which you can fi

"Live with Purpose accurately reflects these ideals and we are excited to introduce the new brand message and website to the fraternal community." The brand message, Live with Purpose, was inspired by the Alpha Gamma Delta Purpose, a set of ideals that guide Alpha Gamma Delta throughout their lives.
