Note from Sister Sami Smyth

Hello all! My name is Sami Smyth and I am a member of Theta Chi chapter from Virginia Tech. Currently, I am an AmeriCorps member at the Greenbrier Learning Center in South Arlington. GLC provides affordable and fun afterschool and summer programs for low-income third to fifth graders at three sites. On October 14, 2012, we will be participating in the Accumen Solutions Race for a Cause to try and raise money for GLC, as well as 9 other non-profits in the area. We earn money based on how many people sign up for the race and select GLC. The best part about signing up and selecting GLC? You don’t have to show up for the race for your registration to count towards us! Essentially, you would be donating the registration fee to the 10 non-profits that are participating. We would really appreciate your help!! Thank you so much from myself and the rest of the members of the GLC team!! Led by the Fraternity’s extension team and staff, Alpha Gamma Delta hosted an informational session and conducted personal interviews (infoviews) with interested women. The women in each interest group were directed to a custom website for each St. Joseph’s colony — goalphagam.com — where they could learn more about the organization and sign up for infoviews.
