DC Alumnae Panhellenic Association Scholarships for 2013-2014

The Alumnae Panhellenic Association of Washington, DC will award scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year to qualified applicants. This past year, the Association awarded three scholarships of $850 each. We hope to award at least the same amount of money this year, and reserve the right to determine how many scholarships will be awarded and in what amount.

The applicant eligibility criteria are as follows: (1) Member in good standing of a fully participating sorority of the National Panhellenic Conference; (2) Rising sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student in Fall 2013; and (3) From the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area or attending school in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

This means that you do NOT have to be from the area to apply -- for example, you could be from Atlanta and be attending George Washington University in Washington DC

Additionally, 'graduate' school may be a professional school such as law, medical or pharmacy

Applications are due by February 22, 2013.  Late applications shall not be accepted.

Scholarship recipients will be chosen at the Association’s discretion, based on a combination of scholarship merit and the quality of the application, short essay and recommendation. Incomplete applications or those not in compliance with the instructions provided may be discarded at the Association’s discretion.  Recipients will be notified on or by March 15, 2013.  Please send questions to dcalumnaepanhellenic@gmail.com.

Upon selection of award winners, all applications and enclosures will be destroyed.  Winners will be invited to attend the Annual DC Alumnae Panhellenic Award reception at the home of one of our members on Wednesday, April 3, 2013.  In the event a winner cannot attend the reception, arrangements shall be made for her to receive her scholarship.
