NVAPA Woman of Distinction Award

The Northern Virginia Alumnae Panhellenic Association (NVAPA) is proud to announce the Woman of Distinction Award. We have realized for many years the dedication and service many woman provide their sorority, community and profession. This is our way of recognizing and honoring them for their efforts. This award will be presented to the woman who has best demonstrated a commitment to the Panhellenic ideals through her sorority involvement and service to her community. The nominee may be any member of your alumnae chapter or a member of another local NPC Greek woman. You may nominate more than one woman for consideration.

The forms for this year have been redesigned and we hope that you will find them easy to use. Please familiarize yourself with these new formats and make sure to follow all directions. The Activity Summary pages provide the format for a list of the nominee’s activities and provide commonality in evaluating the nomination. Please make sure to attach a list of the nominee’s activities to the Activity Summary page.

This year we have revamped the program to reflect the vast amount of experiences and commitments to Panhellenic and sorority life as well as activities within communities. We will have two awards: the Emerging Leaders and the Leading with Experience Awards.

Your group may nominate more than one woman for each award. One packet per nominee is required. All completed nominations must be postmarked March 15, 2012 and emailed to Carol Mooney. The nomination form and supporting documents should be emailed to czm.va75@cox.net as an attachment to an email with the subject line “NVAPA – Woman of Distinction" and the name of the nominee. Please
make sure that all accompanying letters are attached and the file is one document.

All nominees will be invited to the NVAPA May 2, 2012, dinner at which time the 2011-12 Woman of Distinction will be announced.

If you have any questions, please contact Carol Mooney (czm.va75@cox.net).

Thank you for recognizing your Panhellenic sister’s many contributions to her sorority/fraternity, national and local communities. We look forward to seeing you at the May dinner.

Sincerely,

Carol Mooney, Chairman
NVAPA
Woman of Distinction Committee
