2014 NVAPA Scholarship Fundraiser

Every year NVAPA raises money for these scholarships by hosting a play at the Little Theatre of Alexandria in Alexandria, Virginia. Keeping with tradition, our Scholarship Fundraiser for 2014, will be the play “Proof” with the Little Theatre of Alexandria on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. NVAPA Undergraduate and Alumnae Scholarship Applications Available

The Northern Virginia Alumnae Panhellenic Association (NVAPA) is pleased to announce two scholarships this year: Undergraduate Scholarship The first scholarship program is the undergraduate scholarship, which benefits a woman student and member of a National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) Greek sorority and attends a college or university. One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded each spring. Applicants must be a rising junior or rising senior (4th or 5th year). The scholarship is merit-based; financial need will not be a selection criterion. The scholarship funds ($1,500) will be designated for tuition and provided as a credit toward the student's tuition. Graduate Scholarship The second scholarship program is the graduate scholarship, which benefits a dues-paying member of an alumnae chapter of a National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) Greek sorority. The alumnae chapter must be a member of the NVAPA. The scholarship is merit-based; financial need will not be a selection criterion. The...

NVAPA Fall Fling Fundraiser

Wednesday, November 7 at 8:00 PM George Mason Regional Library 7001 Little River Turnpike Annandale, VA Shop TOP vendors like Thirty-One, Origami Owl, Mary Kay, and MANY others in NVAPA’s first Fall Fling.  Participating vendors will donate 10% or more of sales to the NVAPA Scholarship Fund. All orders placed during the event will be delivered prior to the Holidays. Shop for the Holidays and help NVAPA’s Scholarship Fund. Save the Date for the NVAPA Scholarship Play!

Mark Tuesday January 22 on your calendar and plan to enjoy "The Full Monty" at the Little Theatre of Alexandria . This is the big fundraiser for the Northern Virginia Alumnae Panhellenic Association scholarships. Each sorority is expected to sell 10 tickets at $20 each which includes not only the play itself but a 30 minute reception before and a shorter one at the intermission. Such a deal! If you haven't seen "The Full Monty", you should and if you've seen it once, you will want to see it again.

Help needed at GMU Panhellenic Recruitment!

Alumnae members whose sororities are not represented at George Mason University are needed to staff the Preference Signing computers for the last day of recruitment there. This will be Sunday September 9 beginning at 2 pm for training and going until approximately 5 pm. You may sign up for all or part of the time. Contact Carol Mooney no later than September 3 with your name, cell phone, email and say you are from Alpha Gamma Delta. Her email is czm.va75@cox.net . Dress is casual and don't forget to wear your badge!

NVAPA Woman of Distinction Award

The Northern Virginia Alumnae Panhellenic Association (NVAPA) is proud to announce the Woman of Distinction Award. We have realized for many years the dedication and service many woman provide their sorority, community and profession. This is our way of recognizing and honoring them for their efforts. This award will be presented to the woman who has best demonstrated a commitment to the Panhellenic ideals through her sorority involvement and service to her community. The nominee may be any member of your alumnae chapter or a member of another local NPC Greek woman. You may nominate more than one woman for consideration. The forms for this year have been redesigned and we hope that you will find them easy to use. Please familiarize yourself with these new formats and make sure to follow all directions.
